Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely, if you’ve seen pictures online or in magazines that you would like us to use as a guide, then please send them over via email or WhatsApp, or bring them along on the day. We’ll do our utmost to take them into account when planning our lighting and posing for your shoot, but we ask you to understand that it may not be possible to emulate particularly stylised photos without prior notice.

Of course, whatever you want to bring along is fine with us. Do bear in mind that if you’re bringing multiple outfits to change into, it can take up lots of time. Please feel free to bring toys and books for the kids if they’re joining in.

I will travel anywhere within a 10 mile radius of Brackley as part of the shoot price.

Locations further away than this will incur a charge of 45p per mile after the initial 20 miles included.

Living in a country with such unpredictable weather, this is always a distinct possibility! If the weather is bad on the day of shoot, then you have 3 options:

  1. Work with the weather - as long as it's not blowing a gale or blizzard, some really awesome photos can be taken in challenging conditions!
  2. Reschedule to another day and try again (I would respectfully ask that this option is not requested more than twice)
  3. Keep the appointment, but change to an indoor studio or location shoot

In the event of inclement weather, we'll give you a ring on the morning of your shoot (or you can call us first) to discuss your preferences.

There are no particular styles, types or colours of clothes that won’t work for your photoshoot; if you wear it, then it’s… you! However, there are few pieces of general advice we offer:

  • If there is more than one person, portraits where everyone is wearing the same style of clothes tend to work well (e.g. all smart, all smart casual, or all casual)
  • Complimentary colours tend to photograph well, whilst bright whites and deep blacks are challenging to photograph well together. We’ve included a colour wheel in the next section to help you decide which colour combinations you might choose
  • If you’re likely to want a bright white or black background for studio portraits, wearing the same colours as the background can make you disappear a little

However, rules are meant to be broken, so whatever colours you choose to wear is ok by us!

We can all be in a bad mood once in a while and children are no exception. The most important thing is to not worry or stress about it. We're very experienced with working with children of all ages and have a number of tried and tested approaches to getting them engaged. If nothing's working, we can discuss how you'd like to proceed on the day.

Absolutely, feel free to change between al fresco, studio, or on-location shoots, just let us know with at least 24 hours' notice.

If you're moving to an al fresco shoot, then we'll need to have time to discuss where you'd like it.

Your shoot will have a length of time included which we agreed beforehand. If you’re having fun and want to continue for more than about 10 minutes longer, then we’ll be happy to carry on but charge £35 per (part) half hour. This is subject to us not being booked for another shoot straight afterwards.

We all need to change our plans from time to time, things simply get in the way sometimes.

You can reschedule your photo shoot up to 24 hours prior to the appointment time by calling or emailing us.

If you need to re-arrange within 24 hours, except for newborn shoots we're afraid we'll need to ask you for a £5 administration fee. With newborns, we understand that baby's needs come way above everything else, so plans may change at the last minute. Please do let us know as soon as you can though.

There may also be circumstances beyond our control where we need to re-arrange your booking. In this unlikely event, we will contact you by phone and email at our earliest opportunity to discuss your preferences. If we cannot give you at least 24 hours' notice, we will refund you £5.

We aim to get your pictures on a secure page of our website within a week of the shoot. We’ll let you know when they’re available for you to look through. Unless your package specifically includes prints, these can be bought separately once you’ve decided on your favourites. Prices and packages can be found on our website here.

We pride ourselves on the way we work, our professionalism, the quality of our equipment and our photographic knowledge. We will do our upmost to give you an experience and photos that you'll love.

However, we can't guarantee that on the day baby won't be screaming, toddlers won't be tantruming, or bad hair simply won't be made good! In the unlikely event that you do not like any of your photos, then we will work with you to establish how best to resolve the situation to your satisfaction.

Of course we understand that sometimes people need to change their plans, or just aren't up for it any more. Cancellations can be made by email, or by calling us.

It will be a shame as we'll be looking forward to meeting you, but if you need to cancel (rather than re-schedule) then we'll issue you a full refund if notified up to a week before the date of the shoot.

Cancellations within 7 days of the shoot will get a 50% refund, but unfortunately we can't refund if you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice.
